What are they?

Crocs shoes were first developed in 2002, with the American yachting market in mind. Almost immediately, however, they become popular with people who have never even set foot on a boat. Today, you can see Crocs on the streets, in offices, in the garden – pretty much anywhere people need a funky, yet comfy shoe.

Where do they come from?

Crocs were originally made in the United States. The shoes are so popular, however, that manufacturing operations are now spread throughout the world.

What are they made of?

Think Crocs are made of rubber? Your friend is adamant they're plastic? You're both wrong. Crocs are made of PCCR, a closed-cell material that virtually eliminates odour. No-one will clear a room with smelly feet if they are wearing a pair of Crocs. The material also discourages sweating, making Crocs even more comfortable.

Where do I wear them?

No-one has been recorded wearing a pair of Crocs on the moon – yet. However, these immensely popular shoes have pretty much been seen everywhere else. Crocs are as at home on the beach as they are in the boardroom.

Why are they called Crocs?

Crocodiles are tough and strong, with no natural predators, and are as comfortable on land as they are in the water. With this in mind, then the shoe company's owners thought Crocs was a pretty apt title for such an amazing bit of footwear. Wear a pair and you'll soon agree.  

Why do people love them so much?

They're comfort, durable, funky, great for your feet and they grab people's attention. Crocs come in such a broad range of colours, one is pretty well guaranteed to match the rest of your wardrobe. A word of warning, though; wear Crocs long enough and you'll find it hard to go back to any other type of shoe.
